NSW Skills List 2026-27 for the subclass 190 visa: all 78 unit groups

NSW has published its updated Skills List for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) for the 2026-27 program year. NSW says occupations that are not within a listed unit group will not be considered for an invitation for NSW nomination. This page reproduces the list of 78 unit groups in the order NSW publishes it, as at 15 October 2026, and explains how to check where you stand.

How to read the list

  • The list is at ANZSCO unit group level (four digits). Your occupation has a six-digit ANZSCO code, and the first four digits are its unit group.
  • NSW says not all occupations within a unit group are eligible for the visa. Only occupations that are eligible for the subclass 190 on the Home Affairs list are considered.
  • You also need a valid skills assessment for your nominated occupation.
  • Being on the list does not mean you will be invited. NSW invites the highest-ranking EOIs within a unit group and says nomination is at its discretion.

Three quick checks

  • Find the first four digits of your ANZSCO code in the table.
  • Check on the Home Affairs site that your six-digit occupation is eligible for the subclass 190.
  • Confirm that your skills assessment is valid and covers that occupation.

What about the subclass 491?

NSW publishes a separate Regional Skills List for the subclass 491. NSW says it will provide a further update on that list when more information is available, and that 491 applications under all pathways remain closed to new applicants. This page covers the subclass 190 list only.

Frequently asked questions

My occupation's unit group is on the list. Can I apply?

No. You cannot apply directly. You need a valid EOI and an invitation from NSW.

Is every occupation in a listed unit group eligible?

No. NSW says only occupations that are eligible for the subclass 190 are considered.

When is the next NSW round?

NSW expects its first 2026-27 subclass 190 round in the week commencing 19 October 2026. NSW says it does not publicly announce round dates in advance, so please treat that as an expectation.
